Rick O'Shea and the Munich Mystery Episode 9

Following on from the last episodes switch to LibreSoloRPG, this one had a focus on combat. I have never run a SW solo combat before and was not sure how it would match up with the Libre system for choosing enemies. I wondered if, as this encounter was with minions, whether this encounter would be a bit of a cake walk and not really justifiable as a meaningful success. However, as it turned out - I was very wrong. In some ways it makes sense as in terms of number of dice being thrown on each side it was pretty even.

There are are a couple of things I am still a bit uncertain on in terms of SW. One being the to hit being equal to parry to succeed rather than 1 more. The example given is definitely equal to but the written rule could suggest 1 higher as per all the other checks.

Once again the Libre structure gave me good direction whilst at the same time keeping me completely in the dark about what is happening. I suspect that the Foe mechanism could be pretty brutal given that this battle was with the equivalent of just 8/100 possible foe points. I may need to look more closely at what enemies equate to in the Libre Foe chart. In this instance I went with the Wehrmacht soldiers out of  Thrilling Tales SW with d6 stats - perhaps they should have been d4 stats but anyway - it now leaves the story in an interesting place!
